Fantasy Sports Live Podcast 6-13-14
The Fantasy Sports Live Podcast will prime you to make the BIG BUCKS!
Friday the 13th is commonly known as the unluckiest day of the year thanks to Gioachino Rossini, who was a firm believer that not only were Fridays unlucky, but the number “13″ was as well. Lo and behold, Rossini passed away on a Friday, affirming his suspicions. If you’re like me and just think he was just a nutjob, what better way to prove him wrong than by winning a lot of money tonight? DraftDay is the perfect place to shun the superstition talk, beginning with the $109 Field of Dreams. Friday’s edition will pay $2,000 to first place AND $1,000 to second, so you need to get your entry in now. Doesn’t sound unlucky to me. I know you got paid today, so prove it. The average person in the United States makes over $32,000 per year. That is MORE than enough expendable income to throw your hat in the ring tonight. I’m sure you’re even above average, so why not enter the $15 Knuckleball also? For the price of a decent 12-pack, you can claim your share of the $1,500 up for grabs in the mid-tier tourney. The $3.30 Wiz Walkoff, which just so happens to be the best $3.30 tournament in the world, is also a tremendous way to stave off the boogeyman tonight, with a $600 prize pool. Don’t worry, DraftDay has you covered. There are no $13 payouts, so you can leave your superstitions at the door. Or better yet, bring them right in, put on those lucky boxers that your girlfriend hates, and watch the games in peace. If you’re a “plan for the future” type of person, you can enter a 401k-style Qualifier for the Field of Dreams. Win your way in, make a ton of money, then put it away for your retirement. See how that works? DraftDay has a better system in place for you than most employers. Turn your $5.50 into $2,000 in two days. Good luck doing that working in Corporate America. You love hearing people talk about you? Good. Finish top five in any of tonight’s DraftDay featured tournaments, and CrazyGabey and I will bring your great name to the masses on the Fantasy Sports Live Podcast.
DraftDay Update
$109 Field of Dreams
Veterans dominated the $109 Field of Dreams last night, much like the Spurs dominated the Heat. The unique pick of Derek Jeter led dbsultan (238) to a first place finish on the strength of a 3/4 night with 2 RBI. Dongs by Victor Martinez and Jonathan Lucroy helped dbsultan overcome Max Scherzer‘s 65 point gem. Each of the other top finishers, runitup (210), quietwinner (197), and ALLOFIT29 (194) were Scherzer owners.
$15 Knuckleball
Chase Whitley continued his impressive run, and now has four consecutive starts without walking a batter. This was music to raygo‘s ears, as a Scherzer/Whitley combo boosted him into the top spot in the $15 Knuckleball with 253 points. Rounding out the top players were dbsultan (238), Schmitcj (226). runitup (210), and gabbo1313 (208)
$3.30 Wiz Walkoff
Logan Morrison was the unlikely hero for UpperDeckers (258) in last night’s Wiz Walkoff, as his 9th inning ground-rule RBI double was the difference between first and second place. Once again, we have raygo (253) near the top of the leaderboard, followed by TGAT88 (245), Miket_2412 (245), and Ravenmaniac (240).
Coming Up Today
We have a special treat for you today, as Jessica Kleinschmidt makes her Fantasy Sports Live debut, bringing you some great new NFL content. As always, we have Josh Shepardson here to explain things to us that many of our brains can’t even comprehend with his Picks to Click article. You only need to scroll down for about one second before you see yesterday’s gems Max Scherzer (65), Aramis Ramirez (48), and Jonathan Lucroy (30). It may not be fair to demand things of you so early in our relationship, but guess what? You HAVE to read Josh’s article each and every weekday. Saying he is on fire doesn’t do him justice at this point. Quite simply, the guy is prophetic.
Fantasy Sports Live League Update
Finding just the right combo seems to be an everyday occurrence for rcf5415 (211) in CrazyGabey’s Fantasy Sports Live League. He once again took down the top spot on the strength of a Scherzer/Miguel Montero/Aramis Ramirez combo. WildWildWest rolled into second place at 201, followed closely by Ballerzzz81 (190), reneemiller (180), and JamesYoung (179). Each and every one of these players are now entered into tomorrow’s freeroll. Don’t be discouraged! You still have one more shot at punching your ticket. Make yourself known tonight in the Five Guys league, and we will see you in the freeroll. Or save your dollar and stare at it all night. Your choice. (Don’t be weird).
