DraftDay Update
$109 Field of Dreams
In Friday’s edition of the $109 Field of Dreams, dbsultan (276) was one of the few who took advantage of Tanner Roark (64) and his continued domination of the Padres (8 IP, 11 K), as well as Dee Gordon (69) and his multi-triple performance. Keith3101 (261), Golf_Coach (247), dbsultan (246), and ALLOFIT29 (243) rounded out the top spots. Mad props to dubsultan for his $2,500 cash on Friday.
Saturday brought us two versions of the $109 Field of Dreams, with Redemption72 (260) crushing the early field with ease on the backs of Danny Santana (54) and his 5 RBI game, and Jay Bruce (49), who hit his first dong since April 20th. Also cashing were dooger1234 (198) and HoneyBadger (166).
The Evening edition was taken down by lipsgardner (237), who paid up for pitching (Chris Sale and Max Scherzer), but eventually won on the strength of big games from Coco Crisp (49) and Nick Castellanos (39). ALLOFIT29 (221) and dubsultan (161) also took home a pocket full of cash.
Sunday brought a familiar theme throughout the industry. If you played Jordan Zimmerman (81!), you had a really hard time not finding yourself in the money. One of those players was hoop2410 (273), who took down the $109 Field of Dreams while riding “Brandong” Moss (as CrazyGabey so eloquently described him on the Fantasy Sports Live Podcast) (53) to the top. HoneyBadger (263), dooger1234 (249) and MrWonderful (234) rounded out the top spots in this one.
$15 Knuckleball
Friday’s $15 Knuckleball was decided by Brandon Cumpton vs Johnny Cueto. Nine times out of ten, you’d take Cueto. Not this time. Top finisher gabbo1313 (284), took advantage of Cumpton’s seven point edge over Cueto to win himself $500. Living up to his name, certainly being madnkrazy (281) at Cueto’s performance, he did still manage to hit second place, followed by dbsultan (276), Toastjones21 (265), and Keith3101 (261).
On Saturday, the early edition of the $15 Knuckleball belonged to billsfan777 (280), which was remarkable because he rostered Alex Cobb and his PGA-style -14 points. Fortunately for him, his Santana duo, Carlos (55) and Danny (54), picked up the slack. He was followed by Redemption72 (260), prestameco (248), JohnnyP (228), and cshaw420 (227).
The evening saw a rare occurence, as Emac (221) took down both first and second in the Knuckleball behind low-owned players Andrew Cashner (30) and Kevin Gausman (41). Smack (216), naapstermaan (211), and AmericanPie (196) rounded out the top 5.
On Sunday, the Astros were a huge part of any non-Jordan Zimmerman related rosters. Miket_2412 (320) did roster Zimmerman, but also had Jon Singleton (56) and his first career Grand Salami. Second through fifth belonged to lordsepic (299), zulks (286), hoop2410 (273), and g00nsquad (263).
$3.30 Wiz Walkoff
Friday’s Wiz Walkoff was taken down by madnkrazy (281), once again on the strength of Tanner Roark (64) and Dee Gordon (69). Also finding their way into the top five were dubsultan (276), jordanh415 (267), Toastjones21 (265), and Keith3101 (261).
Saturday brought us a double dose of Wiz, with the first tourney going to bigrobnutz (266) behind his Todd Frazier/Jay Bruce combo (49 each). Redemption72 (260), richyceee (257), prestameco (248), and Joedile24 (240) wrapped up the top spots.
The evening was owned by Emac (221) and his same pitcher duo mentioned above (Gausman and Cashner). He was followed by Smack (216), naapstermaan (211), and Romovers (203), who took 4th through 6th.
Sunday’s Wiz Walkoff saw a remarkable 142 combined points from Felix Hernandez and Jordan Zimmerman help hookfactor (327) jump into the top spot. He was followed closely by jimmy413 (290), dowdyism (275), hoop2410 (273), and Biggsteve31 (271).
